Hello everyone,

I am extremely excited about presenting the First Javier Vazquez Kids Wrestling Nationals.

Along with CAGWA, we plan on making this the biggest event of the year!

To me, wrestling has been a life-altering sport. It has taught me about one-on-one competition, goal setting, hard work, and dedication. It has shaped me into the person I have become. It has helped me mature as an individual and grow as a person. There is no sport tougher than wrestling. For that reason, I believe that it builds one's character like no other sport. It is a major part of my life and will continue to be for years to come.

Although I am primarily known as a Gracie Jiu-Jitsu practitioner and MMA fighter, wrestling was the foundation of my martial arts training. Wrestling has also become the key ingredient for anyone that wishes to have a successful career in mixed martial arts (MMA). It lets the MMA fighter dictate where a fight takes place. They can use wrestling offensively to take an opponent down to the ground and work for strikes or submissions or they can use wrestling defensively to stop takedown and keep the fight standing to use their standup striking skills. I had a very successful wrestling career as both a wrestler and a coach. I have coached wrestlers from all levels. I coached kids wrestling, high school wrestling, and have coached all the way to college level wrestlers. I have also coached wrestling to MMA athletes. I have taught wrestling to almost everyone I have ever encountered as a martial artists instructor.

I look forward to working with Eddie Ruiz from CAGWA Wrestling and Erin Ferries fromThe Los Angeles Fitness Expoto bring you a one of a kind event.

I have been working with The Los Angeles Fitness Expo for the past 4 years and when the opportunity came for me to possibly run a wrestling event inside of Expo, I jumped right into it. No other wrestling tournament has a built-in Expo in the same building with over 35.000 attendees and I knew that this would be a big opportunity for our wrestling community to meet new sponsors and be able to see the latest products available to all athletes.

If none of you have attended the Los Angeles Fitness Expo, you are in for a treat! It is like no other event you have ever been to before. I can't wait until January 29th! I hope to see you all there !!

Sincerely,
Javier Vazquez
